Addicted to Video Games?

Postby Ozental » Thu Mar 17, 2005 12:52 pm

How much time each day do you spend gazing at a TV screen or PC monitor? Do you seem to spend much of your day making fantasy characters smash little monsters to death, or drive sporty cars around race tracks? If so, do you think you might be actually addicted to video games?

I must turn now to where the angels fly, singing in a singular voice, I become wrapped in the love and tenderness so often missing from my life, but now, one impure thought sends me hurtling back through the cloud filled canopy, back down to the purgatory of life.

I liek to play video games some of the time but not a lot. I liek to go outside and hang out with my friends too. ^_^
Its seems as though individuality is something wrong now there are always rules surpressing true feelings and I for one am sick of it.. People who think they now it all have no idea of whats really going on...

It's a kick back from going out with a gamer, but I've gotten into playing computer games. As much as I like Dungeon Siece and Legends of Arianna, and Fable, I will not play WoW. Ever.

Which is sad because it seems like a cool game, but really time comsuming. That's why a friend is trying to get me to play Everquest.

Hours on the computer? Yes. That's me. I might be addicted, but I only play in the evenings or during dull days, when no one else is around.

ANY RTS game, I repeat, ANY RTS game, and Diablo II LOD. My most recent games played were Battle for Middle Earth II and Diablo II LOD.

Main games I play the most:

Homeworld 2 (Core game, Warlords, PDS, and Wing Commander 4 mods included)
The Command & Conquer series
Genesis Rising
Supreme Commander
Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne
Starcraft (Amazingly)

I am vary addicted to games. I have played the game GUN for so long that I have found 43 out 0f 44 gold mines and that's not a easy thing to do. I have played Resident Evil 4 several times. Hours and hours go into my games. I was addicted to Icewind Dale 2 two for a while and then I was addicted to a game called Tropico where you have several ways to play. It's a game where you run an island as EL Presidente some where in ther carabian. Every thing depends on how you make money, how happy your people are, what you build. It all impacts several things. Like your political alighment. Communist or Capitalist are the two main formes of government. You can even choose your backround or a premade one. I could go on about the game but I should say no more I love the game so if you want to know more about it ask me through PM. But yes I am vary addicted to games

Of course I am... The game can vary by a lot though.
I'm trying to do my best RPing, and although not altogether bad am a bit of a novice. If you see anything glaring about my posts or have some suggestions for me, please don't hesitate to PM me. Thank you.

Oh yes it can be. I have many differant games saved on it running into the year 2080 and beyond. Many of my saved games I play differantly like a communist one, a capitalist one, a strict farming one, a religus one, and many others.

I play video games, of course. But not as much as I used to.

Although I am quite excited to try out Halo 3... I don't have it yet. -frowns-

Halo 3 is a renter. I used to be the biggest fan, until I played it for a week. Definitely a renter. Good, but it's just Halo 2.

No way, Halo 3 is definitely one to be owned. I've played it twice over, and I'm working on a third.

Anyways, I do play video games a lot, but I don't think I'm addicted. But then, who would openly admit an addiction *grins*

Addicted? Unsure.

It depends on the game, really. If I really enjoy it, I will play it for long stretches of time. If it's only a decent game, I'll play every now and then.

However, if life gets in the way and interferes with my gaming hobbies, I can live without it. So am I addicted? I don't think so. Addicted would imply that I could not easily go on without it. But I can. I've done it before. If homework and such come up, or if work rears its head, I can go for long stretches of time (weeks or more, in some occasions) without playing.

In closing, I'd say that I'm not addicted, but gaming is definitely something that I extremely enjoy doing in my spare time.

=)

Me, I'm fourteen, I live six miles out of town, and there's nobody nearby. So when I get tired of reading- which takes a while- I'll pick up the controller. They're also really good for long car rides.

~looks up at Grey's post then profile~ Your 14...but age says 17...gah so confusing...

But anyways, I would like to think of myself as addicted. But there are no VGAA meetings for me(Video Game Addicts Anomynous). There will never be a 12 step program to get me off of it. I just love them too much...

Well...I have swings. Sometimes I may, sometimes I may not. My mood swings: one leaning towards desiring entertainment, another towards...erm, "peace". :P I haven't played a video game in about 3 or 5 months though, so I must say I'm in no mood to play...yet.

It'll again be irresistable soon though...:(
