ahaha (:

Jafar hi-5!

You know you're the greatest villain of all time when you evil your own demise.

high five (:
i mean - he wanted ultimate power!
so, he must've been some kinda evil.
he put his scepter where his mouth was.

w00t.

Anyway, on Kingdom Hearts, Jafar is one of the four bosses that have a chance of killing you no matter what you do. On KH1, he can use a spinning iceblock attack which will completely trap you and prevent anything you do, as well as doing some (mediocre) damage.

Scar.

Not many can honestly say they didn't sob like the small infant they were when that worn-out, semi-alpha lion threw our blessed Mufasa off that cliff, whilst saying a horribly wicked one liner, and left poor Simba to lead a heartbreaking performance by the limp body of his hard-loving father.

Damn. I believe that sole picture is engraved into my memory, and if I try hard enough and get drunk enough I can link it directly to the shattering of my innocence.

Don't get me wrong, I am I firm believer in the fact that "Those who believe that families are allied are fools", but man - Scar was hardcore evil when your like five and have issues with majestic rulers of the African Kingdom actually being beaten by junkie drug lions - which just so happens to be his brother, and that brother just so happens to be KILLING HIM.

Another point: Hyena March. Crazy shit, man. Crazy shit.

But I have to give a shout out to Ezma from The Emperors New Groove. Just because her and Krunk made me giggle furiously on a constant basis. And, yeah, its after "Classic" time line, but it rocked.

Now see, everyone seems to be saying Scar because he killed a character. The problem is that right after that, he turns into a big whiner about how terrible the kingdom has become. He also resorts to being plain cheap, which none of the other villains really had to stoop too. They all were confident in their own power, not in their tricks.

I'm not saying Scar is a bad villain. Their all well-designed villains. But I have to go for the one that really scared me as a kid, and that was Maleficent with Shere Khan close behind.

For the record I only voted for Scar because Judge Claude Frollo wasn't there from hunchback. He has such a complex real character aswell as beign evil, he falls in love with someone who embodies everything he hates. Plus he owns! lol. Shame on you!!! :P

Hunchback wasn't considered classic, so it wasn't added to the list.

I have to say Scar, Scar is one of my most favorite Disney Villans, my second favorite would be Hades. Hades appeals to me simple because he's a unique hothead, and he's a greek god, how cool would that be? So most definatly, Scar for the win.

Wow. I am so late. All the good debating is already over. *the newb puts in her own two cents*

Personally, as the daughter of a Vet AND an ex-Zoo Keeper (who now works at Disneyland) I felt I hated Cruela DeVille with all my heart and soul but.. what did she really DO? Nothing, that's what. Not in the books, movies, or cartoons atleast.. no killing what-so-ever, no matter how much it was implied and I wish to murder her for trying to hut animals. Not just puppies, but ALL ANIMALS.

I voted Captain Hook and Shere Khan out straight away. Captain Hook? Really? The Old Cod Fish? Puh-leez! He may have hated kids, and kids hated him back, but he got his butt kicked many a time by Peter Pan. A boy not half his age. He's popular, he's funny, he's veeery classic, and all kids of the world despise him.. but he can't cut it. Plus, he's missing a HAND and, if my assumptions are correct, Peter was the one to cause that. And Shere Khan? He's just a tiger who hates humans, and although he was somewhat evil to other animals he only acted like any other wild tiger would when faced with us. An advanced enemy invading their home.

I don't know who the heck thought Jafar was evil, but he wasn't He may have wanted to rule the world, but he was an idiot. All he had under his belt was wanting to marry Jasmine and become the ruler of everything. Sorry, not enough mean-deeds to convince me.

Okay. Now, sure, I can understand Maleficint.. and you're all probably gonna hate me for this, but.. what did she DOOOOO? Sorry I gotta keep asking that, but, seriously, what's her big thing? She put somebody to sleep and forced a guy to age? Woah, so scary. She may look awesome and have awesome powers, like the dragon-thing, but shedidn't do quite enough damage for me to fear her. Plus, if I remember correctly, she loved her little crow-bird-henchman-thing.. where as all other villaisn have held a tradition of hating their henchman or treating them badly. Close, but sadly? No cigar, I'm afraid.

Okay, okay, I love Scar to death. Yeah, the killing of his brother and attempted murder of his nephew.. freaky and scary as they were, the motive was old. He wanted to be in charge and have power. Most villains have that cause, but it's what other reasons that make 'em frightening. Also, his end was fittingly perfect, he fell to his death to be eaten by the Hyenas or otherwise burned alive. He was evil.. and I debated it with myself.. but I can't pick him. Simply because there's no motive that I find impossibly dispicable. Plus, Mufasa totally appeared in the movie in the stars to Simba, so Scar didn't iradicate all traces of his brother. So sad, so ture.. I wish my favorite villain didn't have to die out so quickly in this competition.

I narrowed it down to.. Ursula and The Queen. Strange choices, huh? Well, as a Disney fanatic, let me explain. The Queen, above all else, wanted her own daughter DEAD just so she could be the most beautiful. Her vanity was insane- she was going to have a hunter carve out her DAUGHTER'S HEART. I'm sorry, but that's kinda freaky. Even though she died in the end and sutff, did you see the potion she was using's TITLE in the spellbook? It was, and I quote, "The Sleeping Death" to basically kill Snow White. Now, Ursula may sem all unscary.. but.. dude.. remember those shriveled up things she used in her cauldron and make-up and pitions and stuff? Those were MERMAIDS! Living, breathing mermaids who all mistakenly made deals with Ursula and then were given lengths they could never possibly fulfill.. then became those.. THINGS! And Ariel could have been one, too. Not to mention who knows how many of those little shriveled up thigns she killed to make her other concoctions? Dude, that still gives me nightmares. How would you like to be boiled alive adn made to look so gross no one could descern you at all? Um, okay, eww? *skin crawls* But onceagain it was all about power with her, and that's just down-right boring.

Unfortunately, Ursula's evil is hidden.y very well, actually. So I went with The Queen, because I can't even imagine a mother, especially mine, wanting to kill their own child regardless of the circumstances. Sure, out of stress, for a split second.. but for that long and for that reason? That's just plain.. well.. evil. I know some moms are messed up, but that's harsh.

I just felt like ranting. Ignore me if you want or debate some more.
I'm bored. :P

I voted for Hook, because, well, I liked Dustin Hoffman's playing him so much in the movie...

Yeah, Disney's Hook isn't as great as Hoffman's but anyway...

And as for Disney, well, he's not in list but the guy I hated most when I was a child was Gaston (or however it is spelled) from Beauty and the Beast.

He's one narcissistic, saddistic, son of a bitch

Well, sorry to say but Hook, was not one of the options. The hook you voted for was in the cartoon, since this thread is to vote for the classic movies. Hook was not a classic disney as it was not animated.

King Louie from the Jungle Book. He could at least sing the best.

If Hades were on the poll it would be a tough choice, but I'm definitely going to say Scar. Not only was he willing to have his own brother and young nephew killed so he could be king, he personally ensured Mufasa's death.

I have heard some people claim that Scar is a coward... I'm not sure if I've seen it on this topic, but I've heard it before. And to that I say NAY! If Scar was such a coward, he wouldn't have been willing to fight Simba. While I admit that he did resort to begging when it looked like he was going to lose, I don't think of that as cowardice. Instead, I consider it an intelligent attempt at self-preservation. Besides, he did have the guts to fling some burning embers in Simba's eyes, which is awesome. (Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Simba or anything, I just think it was an awesome move by Scar).

Plus, Scar got his own musical number. The only other villains in the poll who got that were Ursula and Jafar (and although Jafar's reprise of Prince Ali WAS made of win, it was still very very short). And Scar has one thing that no other villain on this list (or any Disney villain that I can remember) had... an army. True, Captain Hook had a ship full of pirates under his command, but it's just one ship. Scar, on the other hand, had a literal army of hyenas following him... at least until he betrayed them.

Like I said though, I also think Hades rules, as well as a certain other Disney villain. I won't tell you who, but I'll give you a hint... "Nobody fails to make it on a poll like Gaston!"

King Louie was not a villain.

Hades (from Hercules) was waaaaaay after Disney fell from the classics.

There were only two animated features and only three years between Hercules and the Lion King. So that might be an exaggeration. Plus Hercules did come from the Disney Renaissance era, so I think it could be considered a classic if the Lion King can be.

Out of that list, Scar is my favorite. Just because Be Prepared is an epic song.

Classic Disney has nothing to do with time. It has to do with the storytelling and animation. Lion King is pretty much the last really great story Disney did, with the exception of a couple. Hercules was not one of them.

Second, just because Louie kidnapped mowgli doesn't make him a villain. If you look at everything that happened concerning him, he's not a villain, just self centered and out for himself. He's not a bad guy.

Maleficant is probably the greatest Disney villain ever, but I'd say my favorite would have to be Captain Hook, I mean the guys a sociopath psycho that you can't help love.

Maybe it is just me, but a self-serving guy that has no regard for the right way to do things is a villain. That said, if I kidnap a kid and tune into Nancy Grace on Headline News, I'm sure I would be called a lot worse that "villain.".

.... King Louie was an orangutan. We're not comparing to real life issues here. We're talking about cartoon movies for kids. The only real "villain" in Jungle Book was Shere Khan. Louie was just a jerk.

And if you're going to say that about Louie, you might as well say that Kaa was a villain since he hypnotized Mowgli so.. he.. could.. eat.. him. So there.

Simply put, Louie needed a match. Kaa was hungry. Khan wanted him dead because he didn't want him to grow up and be a hunter... that kills animals... like him.

I would. He was a sinister deciever. He made not have been the most bloodthirsty villian in the movie, but he was the coolest, in my opinion. Louie wanted to con Mowgli. Kidnapping and conning seem like criminal activities to me. Obviously, they are justa nimals, but they possess human qualities. In this case, villianous qualities.
