I dunno....it's only a game I mean way back when during shakespeare, guys had to play as girls because girls were thought of as like Vile... then that changed later on of course.. but I mean i usually play as a girl but when its necessary I'll play as a guy If i have to. i don't mind I don't find it that big of a deal. I mean Guys play girls is kind of weird but girls playing guys isn't cuz if you think about it there are girls nowadays who dress normally the way guys would dress. just a thought I see them everyday at school

My best character is a female, but I have some pretty good males too. It doesn't really bother me, mostly I like playing guys though. I hate it when others hit on me

I always roleplay a girl, and I am a girl - so it works out. =)

I don't see how it's any different from writing a story and having one of the main characters be opposite the author's gender. o.O

Seems like someone would have to possess some serious insecurities to find it "gross" to write from the perspective of the opposite gender. Unless they're 10. And afraid of getting cooties, perhaps. Just my opinion.

I like to play both genders. A good balance of the two, but male is most natural for me.

I just never had the option of playing an male character in any of my roleplays. I've just been female, not because its gross to play opposite, its just never come up for me. I wouldn't mind, but I also would be very new to being a male hahaha. =)

If I RP'd as a guy, people would be able to tell that I was a girl- cause I would find joy in going to the bathroom standing up.

"Why do you keep doing that?!"

"Because I can!" :D

In all seriousness, I don't know how a guy thinks, but sometimes my mind can catch a wavelength or two... I could RP if I wanted to, but I don't know when the occasion would come up. (shrugs)

I base my guy characters on boyfriends that I wish I had. Like what I want in a guy.

I've done it once, and it was in an animal roleplay.
I was playing a rattle-snake, adn I named him
Wiggles. I like that name.

I roleplay as a male very rarely, but when I do play guys, I must admit, most of them end up as bards or the silent type... Either with dark hair and green eyes or blond hair and gray eyes... >.> <.<

For me, it doesn't really matter. As an aspiring writer, I have to write for both male and female characters. Roleplaying in a forum setting is nothing different.

I agree. Sometimes my best characters are characters of one gender that embody characteristics of the opposite gender.

I write to create. If I said I only wanted to create males or I only wanted to create females I would be limiting myself and as a writer that is something I try never to do.

Same here, I like to try to write without limitations, and if you've thought of a good character there would be no point in ditching it.

I like to play girls, pretend I was as pretty as I make them.

But sometimes its fun to play a male and make him act like a human being. but it can get creepy if you play it wrong

Sometimes. I do tend to model my characters off something that I know how they will react to various situations so they are easier to control. However, occasionally, when the plot needs it, I will have a female character, or if a female just makes more sense in a given role.

I very often play male characters. The first rp I even engaged in i was a male, in fact, and it became a tendency of mine from there on out. Males are my dominant characters, funny enough. only on this forum have I tended to favor more female characters. It is interesting to play the opposite sex, I find, and attempting to capture their perspectives and mannerisms in comparison to ones own self.

It's fun the first few times, then you get INTO the character so much, you start acting like that in real life. Well, it happened once to me, but yeah..that's another story. Not for awhile for me :)

I normal play as a female character, don't really know why. It just when I get an idea for a character it just natural becomes a female. Probably due to having a fiercely feminist mother lol

Ive played both on many occasions, even been in war RP's where ive had multiple characters of both persuasions.

it usually ends up that ill pick a dude for the more manly tasks, soldiering for example. lets face it, we really cant see females charging enemy trenches. and if we can, we dont see it en masse.

however, its more fun for females to play commanding officers or spies.

thats the usual anyways.

I personally can't. The whole, Women are from Venus and Men are from Mars, kinda stops it.

XD XD
I don't mind playing men. ^^
I think it kinda makes rp'ing a little easier (if we're talking board-wise)

Although, My main character is a woman. I use her quite often, and she has MANY different forms to suit different scenarios.

I don't think, necessarily if i am a girl an 'i play a guy that i am lesiban-ish..
you can think of it like this.. You are acting out a guy you would like to meet an' you would like to see in a man. ^3^ much like your 'dream prince' if you will..
everything we see or seem is but a dream within a dream
