Why not? Griffin is perfectly correct. You can even spell it Griffon if you want.

Other.

I've had a mad fantasy about Giant Animals, probably spouted from my first view of Princess Mononoke. Also, the huge eagles in The Hobbit could be a cause for it too... considering they are amazing.

I must admit they were good.

I voted for dragons as there is so much variety and they can be intelligent too.

They are also often magicical.

The Freshwater Nixie. Or the Phooka. But only Arthur Spiderwick's versions of them.

For those of you that don't know...

A Nixie is a female water spirit that protect a pond, lake, river or stream. They are very fascinated in humans, and will pull them into the water, but not to drown them, just for the Company. They are interested in Human Society and look like humans, but with toad skin. They don't have any hair what so ever, except what looks like hair on their head that actually collects Oxygen from the water. They also love Music.

The Phooka is an odd creature. They are Nocturnal most of the time, and have five eyes, three pin prick small ones that act like a Spiders or a Insects, and two large normal ones. They have flat muzzles and for the most part look like a cross between a dog, a cat, and a monkey. They are helpful, and can shift form, into a Horse. Riders will be taken on a terrifying trip. They do not kill humans, just have a dark sense of humor. They're head acts like an owls, except it doesn't from side to side, it goes upside down.

I have always felt a connection with the sea, and so my choice is the Kraken.
I know I was born, and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine.

I voted fairies, because my all-time favorite mythical creature falls into that catagory. The leprechaun. I love those little drunken bastards.

A Hellhound counts as a mythical creature right? If so that's why I picked other.

Dragons. I'm not exactly obsessed but I am surrounded by them atm.

I've always been partial to the creatures of with breasts such as mermaids, Sirens and herpes..harpies...whatever, but my favorite has always been the wolf/dog like creatures.

Specifically, Cerberus.

Let's see those college students ring my doorbell and offer me magazine subcriptions when they see a massive three head hell hound in the front yard.

I already bought a year of Wired from the last set of breasts that rang my doorbell and a year to Spin so they could get the triple points! What more do you want from me!?!

Yeah, Cerb is cool.

And Manticores, the more exotic the better. But Filth, What about Nagga's, they are snake women(who have breasts) but are not in the least bit pretty

I didn't mean to exclude any of the breasted mythological creatures. I enjoy them all but my main point was that I love Cerberus.

My point was that Naggas are FUgly, you may want to consider thesse things when making broad statements, and, basalisks, the original ones, lizards not like on stupid harry potter

I must say that I voted dragons because there are too many other creatures that can fit into other and I am not a big fan of many mythical creatures but the phoenix should have been a choice cause it is the best. I mean all fire creatures are cool but phoenixes have the ability to teleport AND they are reborn every thousand years so they are in a sense immortal.

I chose other because I like Kitsune alil better then the others, though whether thier Myth or not I'm not sure...Either way though I like all myth creatures. Its hard to choose just one, well sides for my Kitsune.

I love all things mythical, but Dragons have always been the most facinating to me. Not only the Western varietey but also the Eastern dragons. I am also interested in slightly more abscure fantasy/mythical beasts like the Quetzalcoatl, Catoblepas & Bonnacon. Tarasque, Qilin, Lamia and the Shedu...the imagination that went into some creatures are somewhat amusing and odd and very interesting.
