Ich leorne middle-Engliſch maſtly fram ſonges an textes. Can eny heer ſpeke middel-Engliſch? Hit was þe leoden of alle men of Englene-lond. Chaucer in middle-Engliſch wrot “Þe Canterbury Tales”.

I can't speak it, but I can read it pretty well, since I speak French and German, and can spot etymological links.

I don't know French, but I know enough German to get me by. I understand most of it, some of it was lost on me, but other-wise, I can read it.

Like Mickey, however, I can't speak it. :x

I don't even think you need knowledge of French or German to get a lot of what I wrote there. German would help more in Old English I'd say. It's a fun language; try looking up some songs (really nice ones too). Some are on youtube. Miri It Is, Alisoun, I Have a Yong Suster and some others.
