It has to be Scar. I mean, even just for the voice. Who wouldn't have Jeremy Irons do their voiceover if they had the money?

Sleeping Beauty is my favourite Disney film thanks to Melificent. Not to mention, she holds my favourite quote, too. When she releases her Raven for spy duty, she tells is simply to 'Go. And do not fail me.'

She's the most fantastic of any villainess I've met. Ever. And that's quite a lot of villainy. Really. So much evil. She wins.

My favorite Disney villian would have to be Scar. I loved the Lion King and it had to be one of my favorite childhood movies. He acts the typical baddy, with all the minions... true, he is a bit of a coward, but hey, that's fun!
Favorite Disney film would have to be Beauty and the Beast, however. I don't know why, it just seems really appealing.

Hmm, my vote is a close tie between Hades (James Woods!!) and Ursula, but this poll makes my choice easy.

I mean, I love how Ursula is so... flamboyant. She's not a "I'm too cool to be a ham" type which makes her awesome. I love her villian song (Poor Unfortunate Souls) and Pat Carrol is my hero for doing this part.

Being fat and having freaking tentacles deninitly helps.

I just wanted to state, for the record, that Scar from Lion King and Jaffar from Alladin are in many ways similar. I have always thought of Jaffar as the 'human scar'. Furthermore, their names rhyme. That actually holds no signifigance, but I find it amusing. In the end, my vote is for Scar. Lion King was one of the first movies I really got into when I was young and Scar was my first true taste villainous behavior. Yes, if anyone was to blame for me constantly rooting for the bad guy, I might have to point the finger at Scar. >:)

Well, if you think of it like this,

The Lion King is based off of Hamlet, so Scar would represent Hamlet's Uncle, Claudius.

Aladdin is obviously based off of 1001 Arabian Nights, and Jaffar, as far as I know, is made up.

So Scar isn't really Disney's character so Jaffar would win by default.

I personally, vote for Cruella Devile. She wanted to skin puppies.

Argh! It was so hard to decide! Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie (I actually love all three) and Jafar is just uber evil! He was the deceptive sorcerer in the first one but became an almighty (and RED) genie in the second one!

Then there is Maleficent! It has already been said but I'll say it again. SHE TURNED IN TO A FREAKING DRAGON! I love dragons. Besides, even her name sounds evil!!

Then there is Scar. I mean, the way he killed Mufasa (his BROTHER) was just brutal because it was more like he let him die. Yet not only did he order the failed assassination of his nephew but then when Simba returned he tried using the guilt of his father's death against him and even blamed him for it. EVIL!

Cruella DeVille (just look at her name) wanted to skin puppies. 'Nuff said.

So who did I pick? *sigh* I picked Jafar. I think almost every great villain should ultimately be the result of his own demise. PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER! Itty-bitty living space. HA!

I saw Scar because nothing says first childhood trauma like watching Scar throw his brother of a cliff into a stampede and then blame it on simba. And then takes over the prideland to throw it into turmoil. I mean wow.

Out of these it has to be Maleficent...but my favourite Disney villian is Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame, like most Disney movies they really babied this story, the actual book of Hunchback of Notre Dame is really brutal but even after babying it they made Frollo veeeeery creepy and extra villain...y?

Very sick, twisted and corrupted, this is my favourite villain song.

I have to say that the Evil Queen from Snow White should be getting more votes.

Not only did she raise Snow from a baby and had to display Some affection or else the King wouldn't have married her, but the Queen did what she could to torture the child with the hardest labor she could get away with putting the princess to doing.

So this kid was her only family after the king died, and the Queen still tried to kill her multiple times. The Queen even gave up Everything she valued in order to kill Snow White, and made herself hideous, poor and wretched just to get close enough to attack.

Then she stood there and WATCHED a slow poison take effect, assuming that Snow would be BURIED ALIVE by her dearest friends when the dwarves found her. Even Scar's kill scene was quick and he didn't have a chance to change his mind, unlike the Queen.

The traditional story even includes two more attempts on Snow's life that didn't make it into the film, via a bodice that laced too tight to allow breathing and a poisoned comb jabbed into her scalp.

The Evil Queen definitely had the idea of "try, try again" down pat.

Although, I think there is a mitigating factor in the Queen's case. Snow White's voice was unbearable and her manner sickeningly sweet. I might have killed her too, though I would have done it to keep such a naive nincompoop from becoming the next Queen and ruining the land.

The Horned King, from the Black Cauldron. The movie was horrid and a joke but the Horned King was an incredibly well made villain in a farce of a story.

I'll have to say Scar. Even when he died his kids in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride, his legacy still continued with his children whom thought of many devious plans to take the throne. Eventually his side of the family will become the pride of the lions.

Wow, Scar is taking this by a landslide.

I expected it before I voted, and thought about supporting another villain, but Scar is by far the best, from the best Disney film ever made.

This is missing the true greatest Disney villain ever. Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame.

To my mind, Jafar is a strong contender, and Maleficent is the strongest female character in any Disney movie prior to the 90's (so much so she's one of the main characters in the first two Kingdom Hearts, and the main villain in the first game). But the true winner? Scar. Why? He's the main villain in a broadway musical. For over ten years. He's a cunning, cowardly, decisive but mad character, and Jeremy Irons makes every line of his dialogue in the movie sound unique, as though its never been said before. not to mention his perfect posture and design. And let's not forget he manages to coerce his family's archenemies into being his minions so he could take over the pride.

If that isn't a ploy worthy of Machiavelli, I don't know what is.

It really has to be Scar simply because you can't beat Jeremy Irons voice. :P
