I'm nearly done, just struggling to nail down his history. It will without a doubt, be up today. Sorry for the delay.

[spoiler]Name: Vitaly Gavrilovich Chernov.
Gender: Male.
Age: 36.
Appearance: Vitaly is of average build, but is strikingly stout and wide. His shoulders are almost too wide for his body, and his arms are short but thick and sinewy. He is about five ten, and weighs about two hundred and thirty pounds. His hair, while frequently shaved short, is starting to thin and gray; he tries to think of it as dignified rather than decay. Vitaly is moderately pale, despite spending many hours in the sun. His face is usually a mask of moderate consideration, as if he is thinking over everything, and he spouts a pout more often then not. His clothing is usually layered, though some days this means a track suit and wife beater, and on others, it means a full three piece suit, even while hunting.
Image

Personality: Vitaly is a product of his environment; he was born in the death throes of communism, and a system, by nature that was absurd. Vitaly is a strangely jovial little man, frequently in good spirits and excited, even while in the middle of the most grotesque of tasks. His mother and father promised a future working a factory, as they did, and their grandparents did, all the way back to Stalin purging his great-grandfather, and he expected little else. When the Iron Curtain was drawn, Vitaly realized that there was more beyond his humble roots; he felt betrayed and suddenly confused. His only options appeared to be criminality or driving a bus in Санкт-Петербург for twenty dollars a month. This push made Vitaly harder; his joy and happiness stayed, but below the surface, there is a distracting and nearly feral drive to succeed. Vitaly, while happy-go-lucky and rather carefree in a poignant way, makes few friends and considers even fewer his own friends. He has one motivation for accepting this letter, and that's the cash.
Views on the Supernatural: Vitaly has a hidden kernel of anger towards the supernatural, though he doesn't let this be his motivation for what he does. He has convinced himself, rather thoroughly, that this is a source of income, and it is business that he can do. He has no qualms about ending something of non-human origin, but knows that he shouldn't relish it either. Vitaly tends to see the supernatural as all negative or evil, but knows that it is more efficient to see them as neutral elements to be used. After several years, he has cooled, but in many ways, he continues his crusade.
Brief History: Vitaly was born and raised by a pair of midrange engineers, of the simple, factory working variety. His home was without particular religious or spiritual devotion, instead finding solace in a humanistic lifestyle. His upbringing ignored even casual reference to supernatural, even the most common of Russian spirits, the domovoi. (House spirits.) As an adult, Vitaly was forced to rethink his ideas on the supernatural. More accomodating to creatures not of this world. It was around his twentieth birthday, that Vitaly went camping and was nearly throttled to death by a forest giant, something straight from the fairy tales and more or less a Russian bigfoot. While his life slowly abandoned him, Vitaly was forced to be the brunt of many jokes, as rusalki, (water nymphs) and vili (forest nymphs) mocked him and his fortune. On his deathbed, he declared a simple war against all things supernatural. Exhausted and expecting to finally pass, Vitaly slipped into a dark sleep. He awoke a few hours later, a sudden burst of energy and strength allowhing him to escape the dense forest. Nothing in life invigorates Vitaly, or fills him with as much energy as hunting the supernatural and exterminating it.
Specialty: Russian supernatural creatures, and he excels at the physical side of the business; fighting, shooting, tangling toe-to-toe with things not of this world.

Now that I'm fully back, I'll get those corrections made to my CS and get them up.

Lookin' forward to this, Duisy!

It's fine, I'm going through the same thing. Classes start on Wednesday and the last week has been awful. Take your time - we can make an opening for you when you're ready.

Just checking in. Some of you know this, but my boyfriend was dropped from university this week. I've been with him, trying to sort through things and get him on a new track. But things seem to have calmed down, so I've begun writing the first post.

Yeah, I got nothing but time. I have four days a week without classes now (yeah, Monday-Wednesday-Friday are hell). Anyway, I hope it all works out for him, and take your time.

Just take your time, Duisy. Those situations require more attention and are what's really important.
