Out-Of-Character: Some Reminders

Postby Duisternis » Tue Nov 27, 2012 1:23 am

Hello everyone! There are a few OOC related issues that the mod team would like to bring to your attention. This may be news to some, or just a reminder to others. Either way, it is something that we all need to remember when posting in the OOC sections.

1. The OOCs ARE moderated!
Due to a bit of sporadic inactivity from our OOC moderator, there are a few things that have unfortunately slipped past us. But rest assured that we are currently moving a few of our mods around to ensure better coverage in those sections. As always, if you see something in the OOC sections, feel free to bring it to the attention of the section mod or a global! Sometimes we miss things, and we really appreciate it when you help us out.

2. Respect your GM!
It is always important to remember that the GM is the one in charge of the roleplay. No matter how passionate you are about the roleplay, his or her word will always be law. You should never take it upon yourself to create rules, accept characters, or ask players to leave. If the GM gives you these abilities (essentially making you a co-GM), that is a different story. But members trying to "overthrow" GMs is something that we are seeing more and more of, and its really uncool.

3. Be aware of OOC talk!
As we mentioned in the above reminder, the GM is in charge. Along the same vein, the GM is the one who can say when OOC chatter has gone too far. We urge players to talk in the OOC, as it helps them get to know one another. We love that community building! But when there are pages and pages of nonsense chatter, and the GM messages a moderator, we will step in and start deleting posts. Its nothing personal - we just want to make sure the GM is being respected. So, if you are a chatter-box, be careful! If you are a GM, feel free to contact a moderator if you're getting tired of the talking.

Thanks for take the time to read the whole thing, as it is very important!
Happy roleplaying!
And the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love.
Grey clouds roll over the hills, bringing darkness from above.
