Looking for SB Mods

Postby Aya » Thu May 13, 2010 12:58 am

I'm thinking that I want to get a couple people as SB mods. Their only job is to keep an eye on the SB. I rarely hang around it, so I don't know of issues until someone PMs me about it, and even then they do it a day or two after the incident. And when that happens, I'm not about to go sifting through hundreds of pages to go back two days to find the argument. None of the mods can do that, and we have other responsibilities that keep us from paying close enough attention to the SB all the time.

So, we need at least two mods for the SB. They have to be someone who isn't already modding another section. If one of them does want to take it over though, they must give up the section they are modding. They MUST have time to watch the SB. Now I don't mean spend every hour of every day in there, but when they are on they must be watching the SB if there are current conversations going on.

Your job will be to censor swearing and make sure arguments don't go too far. You will also be the one(s) posting in the list of those that need to be SB banned. You must be able to keep tabs on your own frustration when dealing with a problem. If an argument breaks out, and those involved are not heeding your warnings, you do not get involved with the fight. You leave the argument and post back in the mod house in the SB ban list who is causing trouble and I will SB ban them. Short and simple. If you are incapable of holding your tongue, you will be replaced.

So, for any SB junkies out there that think they can handle it, post here. This is not first come first serve. This will be carefully deliberated amongst the globals.

I suppose i'll enter my name in for consideration.

Cheers, Aya. (:

I do have a question though... I'm sure it's stated in some rule of the SB, but are some of the less "Severe" curse words allowed to be a little lenient on? Or all curse words must be censored?

And are the mods allowed to join in on the argument/debate as long as it doesn't get out of hand?

I hang around SB a bunch when I am on, and I am on all the time.

So I will put my name in the hat, if people want me for it that is.

Well, since I always have a tab open for the shoutbox, whether I'm logged in or not, I'll offer my services. I check what;s going on pretty much constantly, even when typing up RP replies, so I do see most of what's going on. And anyways, the more names to choose from, the more likely the best candidates get the job.

There should be no swearing AT people in general. So in that case, all swear words are not allowed. Though if someone were to say "holy crap", sure that can slide. As soon as people start swearing at others, regardless of how innocent the word is, the post gets censored.
