I reposted it with the pronunciation, so Tyrant can pronounce them properly.

How long have you been learning the mother tounge?

I'm learning it at school, but more as a side-class, so I'm not that good. However, I do have a book that goes through basic conversational things, such as where you live, the weather, describing people and the like - things you normally learn when you first pick up a language. I can read the alphabet too, so if you have any topic-specific questions I'd be happy to help!

Hopefully I can take it as an GCSE at 6th form. If not, it's law for me with Russian as a side class.

Wayhey, any chance of some online lessons, perhaps? I'm just learning phrases and such, but no real structure.

If not, then no worries.

Let's try. For a start, tell me - do you know cyrillic alphabet? I see it on your avatar. Maybe you can read original russian words?

For example, can you read this:
"В этом мире того, что хотелось бы нам
HЕТ!
Мы верим, что в силах его изменить
ДА!"

which sounds like
"V etom mire togo, chto hotelos' b'y nam
NET!
My verim, chto v silah ego izmenit'
DA!"

and translated
"Is there what we want in this world?
(NO!)
Do we believe we can change it?
(YES!)"

I can read Cryllics fairly well, so pronunciation isn't a huge problem, it's more getting a structure learning rather than what I'm doing which is picking up odd phrases and words.

eg:
эДpaBcTByиte, MeHR эaByt AHДpy, R иэ AHгиCKии. Kak Дeлa и Kak TeбR эaByt?

In what you posted I picked out the words: "What", "no" and "yes". Thank you for the current and future help, btw.

I can't believe that you are really English by birth. Maybe you just kidding me and you Russian?... :)
Не верится что ты на самом деле англичанин. Возможно ты просто разыгрываешь меня, и на самом деле русский? :)

>эДpaBcTByиte, MeHR эaByt AHДpy, R иэ AHгиCKии. Kak Дeлa и Kak TeбR эaByt?
Correct
>Здравствуйте, меня зовут Эндрю, я из Англии. Как дела и как тебя зовут?

My name Vyacheslav Kutepov. (In short - Slava or Slavik.) Everything fine, thanks , and how are you?
Моё имя Вячеслав Кутепов. (Коротко - Слава или Славик.) Всё хорошо, спасибо, как сам?

Some of the mistakes are my lack of crylics.
And some are just plain mistakes, though.

From what you wrote, I picked out: No ------- what you can (possibly "say") ---- English. ------ you ----- ---------- my, and -- ------ ----- russian.

I'm abit confused about "хорошо" as I thought it was Pronounced "Harasho". Is there some rule about O's sounding like A's?

I'm learning Russian in what I think would be standard Russian, possibly Muscovy (as I've finally got round to actually buying a learn Russian book + cd).
