Traditional

Postby Dart » Fri May 09, 2008 4:05 am

I guess I enjoy traditional Role Plays because of the battles with swords, magic, and other things. That type of RP makes me feel as if I am in the past, reliving how it was. That's just my personal opinion.

i like traditional a lot, but i also like modern.
the thing is when im roleplaying i dont like to use magic characters, i always choose a warrior or archer maybe becouse i feel that warrios have more action in the game.

I like all of them a bit, but classic sword and spell still rules for me

I love role playing all genres. It give you the opportunity to experiment and play around a bit in different settings. Every genre has special qualities to offer and its fun to dip in each of them.

Sci-fi and traditional fantasy. Fantasy I think is more fun. But sci-fi can be a blast if done correctly.

If the number of RP topics in each is true, then this poll is inacurrate; Vampiric should be in the lead by far.

I guess, out of these choices [which are more like settings (except for Gothic, which is a style and Adult Fantasy which is way too broad), which, in my opinion doesn't necessarily have to do with how much I like the RP], my favourite would be Modern Fantasy.

Specifically, my favourite time setting is one I end up using when I don't have a setting set right away, where culture and technology is a mix of all the twentieth century. Weapons being near the beginning [usually explained by being a result of supernatural power reasearch being put above weapon reasearch and/or there having been no world wars yet] , public technolgy in late seventies / early eighties, and culture similar to near the end of the millenium.

As for what kind of RPs I enjoy; I like the kind where character interaction is important, but also has some set plot. [it's hard to find one that focuses on interaction enough without it being freeform.]

I really like any RP, because I love the creation of stories. I can make my own stories just fine, but when others are part of the creative process, the story tends to take on a life of its own.

I find it easier if I can rp within a realm that is more realistic because it's harder for me to get into a mindset for different kinds of fantasy/sci-fi. Unless it's the modern fantasy, that would be second choice because of vampires and whatnot. I find it exciting to rp them ^_^. And no...not because of the Twilight series. LoL.

For me, nothing beats using modern ideas and transforming them into something futuristic. I love me some Sci-Fi.

I couldn't decide so I just hit all the above lol. I can Roleplay just about anything, in any Genre, so trying to choose between them is not possible for me.

I like to balance my roleplaying out between different genres, but my favorite is gothic/vampiric. I'm not entirely sure why, it's just what I love.

I have to go with Horror here. Note, I do not mean Vampires and Werewolves (at least, not particularly), but something in the Gothic Horror collection, where desperately horrible things happen often, the future is bleak and grey, no one cries, as there is no meaning to it anymore.

You know, happy things.

Speaking of which, Arkham Horror is a great board game.
