Screen Resolutions

Postby Ozental » Mon Jan 23, 2006 10:18 am

OK, we'll have a different kind of poll today, a more 'technical' one if you will. So, we all use the computer-thingies to play around on something called 'The Internet' and it gives us the opportunity to access great sources of role-play content, like ... "RPG Forums Online". But when we view these web sites, how big does the screen appear? Is it small or is it big? Specifically, what screen resolution do you normally use?

I use 1024.....in fact on almost all the website I manage and work for.....over 60% of all combined users use 1024 ....over 90% use IE as well

Over the years I have watched monitor settings slowing increase as technology got getting :) ...when I first started watching all the settings across several websites...800x600 was the dominant setting

Things change and grow....

1024 is as high a monitor setting Ic an deal with, because of poor eye sight.

I use 1024 as well, though at times I've seriously considering bumping it up because when I'm doing graphics work, 1024 just seems cluttered... Or maybe it's just me.

I think part of the reason resolution sizes have increased as they have been, is because monitors have gained in size and image crispness. On my old 14 inch screen, 1024 made my eyes hurt to look at.

I never really though about it, but out computer is on the smallest setting right now. o.o (800 x 600) I'm thinking of going bigger, but someone in my family would probably object.

I'm using 1280 x 800 at the moment, it feels quite right when I'm designing graphics and web sites so it's what I'll stick with until I get a new laptop or desktop. Those 20' look amazing 0.0

1280 x 1024

I have a huge ass monitor so I find when i use this size it's the perfect amount. I hate big icons and everything, But hate when there so small you cannot even read the text on them.

1024 x 768, I think it gives the best picture, just my opinion. Many friends of my hate it and demand I go larger, but meh, I'm content.

I prefer 1440 x 1900, everything is just the right size.

1024 x 768, since I think it's all that my monitor can handle adequately. Plus, it doesn't look too bad...
