The Internet vs Games

Postby Ozental » Wed Apr 13, 2005 10:51 am

Well I'm sure everyone here uses both the Internet and plays games of some sort, so this choise is not going to be simple. We all rely on our email and web browsing to get us through the day but we also love to take ourselves off to another worlds via our RPGs and other games. But my question is, if you had to give up one, the Internet or playing games, which would it be?

Since I've got a computer at school and can get away with pretty much anything I want on it, but can't really play any games(at school, I mean), I'd say I could give up on my games any day, but I do kinda need the internet to keep me from going insane... ^.^"

Nope, need both!!!! Games to take me away from how harsh life really is and this place to meet new people from over-seas and be an idiot on the WORLD stage!!! lol

Do "games" include pen-and-paper RPG's, or just computer and console video games?

I could do without video games, and I could make do without access to the internet, but losing D&D or Shadowrun would be most depressing.

I could probably go without both for a while… but doing everything ‘old fashioned’ without the internet SUCKS. I should know. We only got a computer three years ago. O.o

I'd lose Games - as I can derive pleasure by other means and I really wouldn't lose much by giving console/video/computer games up. I've gleaned a lot more from the Internet and it's been useful (especially) as a research tool, conduit for meeting people, and a way to communicate with others easily - it's rather essential.

I actually had to ponder this dilemma for a minute or two. Unfortuneatly for me, there are no two ways about it, I can't do without either of them.

I know, im turning 30 this year, but I swear Ill be playing games deep into my 70's ( if I ever make it that far, hehe )

Concerning the Net, yeah well you can't live without it can you, no questions asked.

As much as I love games, the internet is such an expansive wealth of information that I just don't think I could give it up.

A very easy decision. I don't play games much, but without the internet I would wither and die within a week. How would I talk to my friends, my boyfriend, how would I not die of boredom without internet?
