Tell me, why there's no saber?
You know, from all my years of pracicing weapons and martial arts (this year, it will pass the 14th anniversary since i satrted) the one weapon I could consider the most effective due to its capabillities is saber.

But not chineese saber, or american, nor englich backsword, I mean, hungarian, polish and arabian saber -like Węgierka, Janówka, Shemshir or the sabers used by the conquerors of the constantinopol - the Seldżuk raiders.

Or the best of all fo them - the weapon of ultimate swordmasters the black saber, or as you prefer Husar's saber.

It has a specifically outweighted end, very well made hammer and feather, as well it has a ring for a thumb, thus it is fast, light and as strong as a two handed weapon. I once believed that katana, and art of kenjutsu was great, when I stood in front of a man, who wielded this saber. Though I tried to use all of the tacitcs of the go-rin no sho, and heiho kadensho, I didnt even manage to hit him once. And I can assure you, I am quite a skilled adversary.

Even though, I believe the rule, that even if you're great at wielding a spoon, you can defeat everybody, thus the black saber gives you the most superiority of all weapons I ever wielded.
(I was tought, three style of hand -to- hand combat - wing chun, kick boxing, tae kwon do, two styles of chineese sword - Yang tai chi and Chen Tai Chi, one style of japaneese katana bu jutsu kan, japaneese nito-kenjutsu - two sword style at bu jutsu kan ,style of chineese butterfly swords - at wing chun, one style of chineese stick - at wing chun and the western european style of rapier and floret. I do practice as well the one handed sword of the slavic nation, but I still find it much inferior to the Black Saber....

Congrats man, I've only being practicing european weapons for 4 years. Muaythai for one year and did Taekwondo and karate for 5 or so before that. 14 years is an achievement, good too actually meet someone on this sight who knows about weaponry and martial arts.

Funnily enough, steel wire coat hangers actually make good street weapons. I know a guy named brad who cut open a guys face by backfisting him whil he had the coat hanger wrapped around his hand.

I said I started 14 years ago - but that doesn't mean I do have the experience of all those years in one martial art. The first years are rather to make your mind be possible to understand what you're practicing, then it takes few more to start truly practicing the method.
But in fact it is quite a thing if you ever start practicing the art. Among all these martial methods I found only one martial art, and it's Bu Jutsu Kan. And it is really full fledged art...

About the coat hangers, you mean that thing on which you hang the coats? (english is not my native language, so sorry if i dont know something)
If it is, it is rather an improvised weapon, so you can also ask why there're no stool mentioned - in a barfight, there's nothing more effective than a good stool... :)

though i prefer swords for say a thief so i can just do the utmost damage to someone via backstab or even a warhammer to just crush bones and such without killing directly

I prefer Halberds to any other weapon, both in games and in real life.

Hmm... Why is 'Two Handed Sword' Not there?

Well, I chose 'Sword' Just so everyone knows, I love two handed swords, maybe heavy, but real strong.

Staffs are awesome, but for actually fantacy characters (mainly assassins) my favorite weapon would be the Sai, ya know like the ones Raphael the Ninja turtle and Electra use. My second fav. would be the Katana.

Sword. Without a doubt.
A short sword to be precise. Just like the one I got as a wedding present.

It is small enough to not hinder me when I am not using it and big enough to defend myself.

But, I do avoid combat if at all possible. If a dispute needs to be settled, I prefer to use my voice as weapon.

Okaaaaay, this is gonna sound freaky, but I like whips. Don't take me the wrong way, I'm not a dominating sort of woman. I just like how it's a weapon that gives so much sting when it's made out of little more than organic fibre. Flexible, hard-wearing, packs a punch.

(Everyone's still thinking I'm a dom, right? Awwww... dug my grave there...)

I think i would go with dual swords, or maybe sword handaxe. all these druids with staves. if i was a druid id use a scimitar. Dual swords if i was a master i guess, for real life ultimate survivor stuff, spear/shield combo would be my weapon of choice.

I prefer a staff, but, not just a staff that is so general, I mean a scepter. It is shorter than a Jo staff, and it has somthing at the top. So like a small mace but I use it like a staff. Southern Shaolin, style. But I can do that with any type of stick weapon, Bo staff, Jo staff, scepter, spear.

Sword.

I used to sword fight with a friend of mine in highschool ( yes, we used real swords. I have a scar on my leg to prove it ) It was so much fun though. You'd be amazed what your instincts can do when you are facing a real weapon.

I Would go with a 3 part steel staff. It took me well over a year of practise when I was younger to master that flaming thing, but once i did it is an incredible wepon, it can be used as two short sticks, thrown around in the way of a whip or flicked around the body like a nun chuku. While it might not be the best wepon in the world, i think its quite good.
